Volunteer Carol Van Klompenburg received The Work of Our Hands 2022 Elephant Award

Volunteer Carol Van Klompenburg received The Work of Our Hands Elephant Award at the store’s Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. “Elephants never forget, and we never want to forget how valuable volunteers are to us,” said Manager Amanda Johnson as she presented the award. 

Carol, who currently serves as a board member, began volunteering at the store a year ago, working the floor and unpacking product shipments. A writer by training, she soon offered to restart the store’s monthly newsletter and to write descriptions of our products for our web site.

Amanda said, “Carol arrived with the right skills at the right time to fill a need for us.”
